8 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Television has destroyed communication among friends and family. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

I agree that television has destroyed communication among friends and family. Having a TV = (write it out in the full form – television) at home is not only about entertainment, but also about the quality of family life. Here are some reasons to support my opinion.

More time for hobbies or families .(You should put these subtitles into a full sentence – i.e.  One of the advantages to not having a television is that there will be more time for the family to be involved in other things.

When people don’t spent too much time on TV, they can have more time (on = to do) other things, such as reading, exercise, music, or playing games. These could be good opportunities to develop relationships between families. Spending too much time on a (television )remote instead of on someone you really care (about), (I will say it’s worthless.= is not very profitable)

(Not only is watching too much television unprofitable it is also a time waster – do you see how I have tied the paragraphs to each other?)

Time wasting

There are too many channels nowadays, which means people not only spent time on the TV - television programs but also on using their remotes(:= ; )they just keep jumping from channel to channel. Besides, when people watch TV - television, it’s impossible to avoid ads =( advertisements). Some ads may be funny and interesting, but do we really need (those ads repeat and repeat again all day? = to have those advertisements repeated all day?)

Relationships between families

When everyone in the families (family) put(s) their attention on the television TV, then they put less attention (to = on) each other. Good relationships (between families need time to be with each other = in a family require the members of that family to spend real time together) . Good quality of communication takes time between family members, but it’s necessary.

(Influence of education = One of the unfortunate side affects of the television is that many people use it as a babysitter.)

Some people put their children in front of the television TV, so that children can be silent sitting there. TV can not Television cannot  replace real parents. Sometimes TV can provide some messages (may = that will provide a) cause bad influence on our children,which  Parents should really be careful about this happening.

Even (TV could be dangerous = though television could be potentially dangerous) to our families, we can still choose to use it wisely. In my opinion, people shouldn’t have cable at home. I will choose to have a TV and a DVD player instead of having cable. I would like to use my time well and wise by choosing (pacific = specific,) excellent and healthy programs or movies for my families, so that we can watch TV and learning at the same time.
